install firefox 3.5

When I try to install firefox 3.5 using the command apt-get install firefox-3.5 it shows the following error "segmentation faulty tree ...... 50 % " .What is the problem here ?

sudo mv /var/cache/apt/*.bin ~/; sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get upgrade

To be less detructive, if the command works then delete the 2 bin files in ~
