After automatix install nonrecoverable password

downloaded automax and now can't log in..number/letter keys don't work..have tryed..recovery..have tryed..ctrl..alta..F1..and when I get to jdroost laptop..type in suto apt-get clean..asks for password..but numbet/letter keys don't work..What am I missing? Ubuntu worked fine before automax..Have all up dates..as of 7/24/07..Tryed typeing in admin as password..nada..

Found on digg.com..when to web site..and downloaded..down load time about 30-45min(here)@256K..this is a very SLOW 256..$30/G..was about a G downlowd I think...

System..Inspiron E 1705..Intel Core Due T2500(2GHZ/667MHzFSB..XP..1GB Ram ..256MB ATI Mobility Raden x1400 HyperMemory..80GB SATA..all this was up graded..Dell wanted $4,000.00 for this ..I paid $1,800.00..Not bad I think..and this was shipped price..but does no good if I can't get it to work..

Automatix is neither supported not recommended by Ubuntu (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Automatix); it is indeed known that it can cause corruptions and lock-ups. You best choice would be to reinstall Ubuntu from scratch.
