It's very easy. Go to system tray (after install on right top corner) click on the icon network connections and choose your wireless network (password might -and should- be needed)

If your router is set up you don't need to fill in any of these fields. To give you an idea when you click on network connections you should get something like this http://cybernetnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/ubuntu-7.10-wireless-networks.jpg

thanks for your quick response.  Correct me if I am wrong,  is it possible to hook up wireless with ubuntu without a router?  After reading the handbook, I thought this was possible?

thanks for your help, sorry for so many questions, I told you I was new!  :)

I have a wireless router and if someone want to conect to the internet through my router should know the password (i have it locked). This is what most people do. If i allow everybody to connect wireless to my rouer then my internet connection speed will go down. So if you find an unlocked network you can connect. There is ways to hack even locked networks (only with WEP key as far as i've heard) but i've never tried anytting like this (For more information google and youtube with the words nUbuntu and Backtrack)
