Hello,

in your first URL is a mistake http:// not http;//
The URL http://au.archive.ubuntu.com is not available but you can use this one for example:
http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/f/f-spot/http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/f/f-spot/f-spot_0.3.5-0ubuntu2_i386.deb

Go to System > Administration > Software Sources, and change the server to "Main server" and then reload. See if it helps.

I have a similar problem in that i get the following response to an upgrade request:

W: Failed to fetch http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/d/debconf/debconf-i18n_1.4.72ubuntu10_all.deb
Could not connect to localhost:4001 (127.0.0.1). - connect (111 Connection refused)

ANy idea what the problem might be. As you may have guessed, I am an A7untu newbie.
