Checking e-mail with Kopete launches Screem html-editor

Asked by WebJoel

I have Ubuntu "Feisty", and Installed "SCREEM" html-editor. When I try to sign-in to my hotmail using either GAIM or KOPETE, it launches SCREEM instead.
SCREEM works fine. Why are my msn-messenger and @hotmail being launched by GAIM? (and) Kopete?

In Kopete, I can see that I have new e-mail. In Gaim, I see my contacts. I just cannot interact with these, as the html-editor SCREEM seems to show the 'sign-in page code' in *html format, for messenger/hotmail instead.

I could just un-install SCREEM temporarily and see if this releases the sign-in problems, but I'd rather find a fix or at least, not make things worse.

 Thanks,
 -Joel

I finally decided to just go ahead and un-install the HTML-editor "SCREEM" and guess what... it 'released' my GAIM, so I can check my hotmail & messenger.

I installed "AMAYA" instead, for my web-page building needs.

I'd still like to know the malfunction with SCREEN, -why it would seize control over GAIM, launching itself instead of my sign-in hotmail account...
