Hello,

you can install the kubuntu desktop environment via synaptic:
gnome-panel->system->administration->synaptic package manager->search
for kubuntu-desktop and kde-i18n- and mark both packages for
installation->hit aply.

During the installation a configuration dialog for kdm
(kde-desktop-manager) will open. During the next boot you can change the
desktop environment by changeing the session-type.

hi Piet
you can install both Ubuntu+kubuntu, you don't uninstall kubuntu if you want install Ubuntu.
im my system i'm combined Kubuntu+Ubuntu+Edubuntu+UbuntuStudio in one Harddisk. from terminal type:

$ sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop xubuntu-desktop edubuntu-desktop (if you want install kubuntu, edubuntu, xubuntu)

Can you help with this problem?
