Installing on Playstation 3 without seeing Live CD?

How do I install Ubuntu Karmic on my Playstation 3 without having to use the Live CD GUI since it takes too damn long for it to load and, in fact, doesn't even load. Can I just type something in the Kboot: prompt and IMMEDIATELY go into the installer?

Its so slow because PS3s only have 256Mb RAM which is below the minimum needed for Ubuntu. It willrun XUbuntu much better as it is lighter.

If the PS3 can boot USB sticks then you can use a bootable USB stick (make one using the live CD and selecting make a USB stick)
