No Sound in 6.06

Asked by jszmiller

Hope that you can help.

I am very, very new to the linux world and decided to jump in with both feet.

I have installed version 6.06 (originally had 7.04 but could not get my wireless card to work - another story later) and everything seems to work except that I do not have any sound.

I have read just about every post on this site and others that I can think of but can not figure out what is wrong.

I have used alsamixer and verified that both the Master and PCM levels are at 100 and not muted.

I have executed lpsci but am not sure what I am looking for:

Thanks so much in advance. I think that if I can work through this one I may go the upgrade route and try 7.04 and then work the wireless problem!!!

Going to close this. Moved back to 7.04 and finally figured out how to get wireless working.
