Elmer for Ubuntu 8.10

Asked by Waluyo Adi Siswanto

I am going to use Elmer (Open Source Finite Element Software for Multiphysical Problems), but I cannot found in my synaptic manager.
I found a repository for ubuntu http://www.opennovation.org/ubuntu/
unfortunately only available for hardy, and karmic.

How can I install elmer in ubuntu 8.10

Thanks for any advice.
Waluyo

There's no harm in adding the hardy/karmic repos if there isn't one for your version. The worst that can happen is that you can't install it because some other packages that it depends on aren't available in 8.10's repos.

Thanks for the info
and tried to change to hardy, it does not show elmer in synaptic.
when I changed to karmic, it showed in my synaptic "elmer" but when I applied it didn't install because not available dependencies.
Does it mean it is not possible to run Elmer in Intrepid?
