A porblem with the screen size my enitre screen is big. i mean every thing.

Asked by Brandon

I'm having a problem with the size of every thing. when i logged in, earlier today. every thing was fine. everything was the normal size and i didn't have big prints on every thing. Now i logged back in later today and i come to find out that everything on my desktop and all my other windows have gotten a lot bigger. My web browser and all its fonts are now really bigger than before. I looked into my monitor and nothing. it was the way i had left it before. but i still cant figure out what has happened. it seems like that every thing has been blown up by a lot. i remember all my quick keys for fire fox where a lot smaller and where more to the right of the screen. the folders on my desktop where smaller and weren't talking up so much space.
i just need some help on how to make every thing smaller again.
thanks

It would appear that your screen resolution has decreased. Try going to System>Preferences>Screen Resolution and picking a higher resolution. If no higher resolutions are available, it may be necessary to reconfigure the display. Try opening a terminal and typing:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

and answering the questions it asks. it is recommended that you know what type of video card you have first (for example ati, nvidia, sis, or intel) after that is done, you will have to log out and back in again to see the changes.
