Installing ubuntu on HP Pavilion dv6305us?

Asked by Migeru87

Hello I just got a Hp Pavilion dv6305us notebook with windows vista home(not a good OS). I got tired of windows and want to try out Ubuntu I downloaded both versions of the 7.04 or something like that i got Standard personal computer, and 64bit AMD and Intel computers. those are the 2 versions i downloaded. They both end up freezing at some point. i tried the safe mode and the other one and i get the same problems, every once in a blue moon it will load up the cd and let me get all the way till Ubuntu loads and the desktop shows and i install and at 46 percent with out fail it stops and freezes. Oh and i also check the CDs both of them for integrity problems and there was none.

Hp Pavilion dv6305us notebook
AMD TURION 64 X2
512 RAM
80 GIG HD
NVIDIA GE FORCE GO 6150

Any help would be much appreciated thanks for everything if you need any further information just ask thanks ^_^
