Detected PCI ID for VGA:
Checking for texture_from_pixmap: present.
Checking for non power of two support: present.

/usr/bin/compiz.real (cube) - Warn: Failed to load slide: /usr/share/gdm/themes/Human/ubuntu.png
GConf backend: There is an unsupported value at path /apps/compiz/plugins/cube/screen0/options/images. Settings from this path won't be read. Try to remove that value so that operation can continue properly.

This is a bug

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/363517

try:

sudo apt-get --reinstall install ubuntu-artwork

You can also simply download an image to make the file exist (if it doesn't). Please remember to search bugs before asking a question

The bug also has a fix which seems to work too.

Means same output?
> unsupported value at path /apps/compiz/plugins/cube/screen0/options/images

If yes, open gconf-editor and navigate to above path.
Value is empty:
[ ]

If not, unset the value or insert the correct string to file if you prefer an image on top of cube.

Did you logout-in (=restart X)?

A simple diagnose can be done with compiz-check.
http://forlong.blogage.de/entries/pages/Compiz-Check

Or ask in forum which settings are required, maybe search for geforce 6100.

Still the exact same output after inserting correct string, also tried unsetting key , didnt work either. used compiz-check again all said ok. x is configured correctly. geforce 6100 settings are ok.
Anyone else have an idea? Again on compiz --replace I get:

In case of not working at all with graphic card and driver properly setup, not really.
It worked even on Feisty.

Most have it working but issues with window borders.

Maybe take a look at Xorg.0.log
grep EE /var/log/Xorg.0.log
grep WW /var/log/Xorg.0.log

try:

sudo touch /usr/share/gdm/themes/Human/ubuntu.png

Then run compiz as normal.

Last output diffs from your first post.

Now, I'd retry to unset this value again

I guess I have exactly the same problem with a fresh installed 12.04 AMD 64 and a NVidia 260GX.

None of the fixes on this page is relevant.

* The Nvidia driver itself is working
* Compiz does not find a composite extension

@ActionParsnip
And its a NEW bug. Not from 2009.

Can you help with this problem?
