how to download word and excel?

on your system should be openoffice installed. With openoffice you can
create or open word and excel documents.

If you have existing documents, just doubleclick on them. If you want to create new documents, open Applications -> Office and then the type of OpenOffice.org application you want to create a document in. Writer is the equivalent of Word, whereas Calc is the one for Excel.

just as Dennis sad open the office suite and play around most of the stuff works like the MS Office without Visual Basic. If you want to create an office document .doc or .xls just save as and change to .doc or .xls.
