Installing .BIN drivers, need help!

Asked by Annihilan

I need help installing my motherboard's driver system, I am running on 64-bit Ubuntu, with an A8N-SLI Deluxe. manufactured by ASUS, I had an earlier problem, and thought it could have been due to driver loss. I put in the disc that came with the board, and I got a file navigator screen, and I saw a bunch of files, without icons. Also, this is my VERY FIRST DAY using ANY Linux based systems, and I've read about executing .bin files in some sort of thing called "shell" or "chmod 755" or whatever, could someone explain to me how I do this?

Hi,

most of the time the necessary drivers have been integrated in the Linux kernel and everything should "just work". If there is some component who is not working (ex. sound card, network card, etc.) let us know which one is it and we'll take it from there.

The simple (not Deluxe) edition is fully supported according to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Asus_A8N-SLI
