Fixed in Edgy since foomatic-db-engine 3.0.2-20060530-2ubuntu2.
In Edgy dynamically generated PPDs from foomatic-db-hpijs are used now, foomatic-db-hpijs contains the necessary information to generate all hpijs PPDs (for both HP and non-HP printers).
