Ubuntu Kentucky web hosting request.

Asked by Eric Lake

The Ubuntu Kentucky LoCo Team would like to request web hosting service.

This site will be the main information site and web presence for the team.

It will provide the team with information relating to team projects, links to download ubuntu, and act as a resource to new ubuntu users.

We would like to use the domain ky.ubuntu-us.org to keep with the naming convention set by teams that have gone before us.

  Launchpad Page: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-kentucky

Thanks!

We plan to use drupal for the site and one of the templates on the LoCoTemplates wiki page. Having ssh access to the site would be something that is desired but we can work
around that.

If needed we can host the site and just have access to the domain name.

If using kentucky.ubuntu-us.org follows the naming convention better then we are good with that as well. We are currently running the site with no domain name. It is at http://64.191.174.220/

Hi, just wanted to say I've not forgotten, but we're a little shy on resources and a little heavy on todo items... I will be getting to this soon.

We have change the team site on launchpad to be ubuntu-kentucky to kentucky.ubuntu-us.org would be a better name I think.

OK, got the official word on this... what we're doing is asking "new loco teams" (i.e. those not yet "approved") to focus their team building efforts by building their website on wiki.ubuntu.com. Once your team gains approved status, you can request web hosting and we'll set you up.

The Ubuntu Kentucky LoCo Team was recently made an Approved team and would like to reopen this request. We would like to request both ky.ubuntu-us.org and kentucky.ubuntu-us.org ,if possible, to keep with the naming convention and to enable people to find us by the full name and abbreviation of the state. We would like to have both of the URLs pointing to 64.191.174.220 so that we can host the site ourselves. If this is not allowed then we would be glad to have you hosting the site for us. In the event that you host the site we would need to have ssh access, php (4 or 5) and a mysql database. If we can only have one sub-domain then we would rather have kentucky.ubuntu-us.org.

Thanks!
