Printer configuration issues.

Asked by Genny

I have a uncertified Canon MP620, about a year ago a few ppl from the Loco were able to install the printer drivers for me, allowing my printer/scanner/photocopier to work just fine. Right now when I try to print from the computer it bring up a window on the laptop saying "printer configuration error". When I scan and also when I make a copy of something I have no problems with the printer. I'm not sure if this can be something resolved through e-mail, but I'll try my best!
Thanks,
Genny

hi Bruno,
Thanks for the info, but the website only had info about installing drivers, not troubleshooting when drivers are already installed. I looked more into my printer problems and the printer properties tells me that I have a missing printer filter. I have no idea what this is, what about yourself?

I am not into fixing already installed printer drivers. (I will leave that to others, if any)

My suggestion is to un-install the driver completely and re-install exactly as in
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HardwareSupportComponentsPrintersCanonPrintersCanonMP620

at least that is how I would do it , if I had the same problem.

Sounds like I'm going to a help night at Free Geek or Support Saturday as that's out of my scope of knowledge.

My parents now have that printer (that caused me so much trouble) and I got a free one from a friend that moved to Ontario and it works amazing!
