Will Ubuntu Tweak work with other flavours of Ubuntu?

Yes, while you don't apply the function that regard the Gnome Desktop.

Well, will they make Ubuntu Tweak work with KDE or the various Window Managers...because if it only works on GNOME then it's not going to go very far in this day & age?!

Dear mlauzon, The guys that make Ubuntu Tweak develop his app for Ubuntu for their reason, like get focus, get productive, cause ubuntu is the must used flavor, and more Important cause they release the code as Free Software :) so, anybody that wants to get it work for Kubuntu and Xubuntu, just have to read the code and modified.

If you are not a programmer, you can always put this as an idea, look for his community, and propose it. Itsn't that hard to get a feature as a milestone for new versions.

At Last, this are the main features of UT, I place what features would work and don't.

    * WORKS View of Basic System Information(Distribution, Kernel, CPU, Memory, etc.)
    * DONT WORK GNOME Session Control
    * MAYBE WORK Show/Hide and Change Splash screen
    * DONT WORK Show/Hide desktop icons or Mounted Volumes
    * DONT WORK Show/Hide/Rename Computer, Home, Trash icon or Network icon
    * DONT WORK Tweak Metacity Window Manager’s Style and Behavior
    * MAYBE WORK Compiz Fusion settings, Screen Edge Settings, Window Effects Settings, Menu Effect Settins
    * DONT WORK GNOME Panel Settings
    * DONT WORK Nautilus Settings
    * WORKS Advanced Power Management Settings
    * WORKS System Security Settings

if it is possible to run in kubuntu 8.0.4 without some functions, how do you get to operate, as I have downloaded it and
tried to run it but nothing happens???????

I have found out that some of the features of Ubuntu Tweak don't work for me. I'm running Xubuntu 12.04 64-bit.

Tweak -> Sound: I can change the sound but it does nothing on my system

Tweak -> Theme: It looks like I have the option of changing the different themes here but when I change them in the drop down menus nothing happens. It doesn't affect my system at all.

Tweak -> Login Settings: Again, I can choose different options but it doesn't change anything in my system. Also, my current icon theme doesn't even show up in the drop down menu

Other than that, everything else pretty much works. I'd be careful in using he janitor as it has a nasty habit of getting rid of your panels and interface. I had to restart my computer to get everything back the way it was.
