Tweak the Text-Mode location bar setting in Nautilus?

Asked by WindyWeather

I've had one of my Ubuntu systems for a long time, and sometime in the past, it got a setting for a text-mode location bar, which I like because I can copy paths to terminals.

A new installation does not have that mode, unless I type / and then I can enter a new location, but not see the one that was just there.
Apparently the setting can be changed:
http://www.webupd8.org/2010/05/use-text-mode-location-bar-in-nautilus.html

gconftool-2 --type=Boolean --set /apps/nautilus/preferences/always_use_location_entry true

So when I saw this, the first thing I did was go to Tweak and try to set it in the Nautilus config section.
And it's not there. boo hoo. ;)

Just one little item for an upcoming release please.

Love the program. Someday, every feature will come with a GUI, or built into a program like tweak, but until then
I'll use Tweak.
Thanks,
windy

Hello Windy,

Thank you very much! This is really what the user needs, I've added this option to Ubuntu Tweak, you will see it in the next version.
