Bemba Translation Team creation

Asked by goof

I would like to have the Bemba translation team added to the Ubuntu Translators group on Launchpad. Please consider us for this. Below, we have listed what we have done according to the criteria for team creation:

We have managed to do the following:
1. Checked and made sure that the team does not exist yet

2. The Bemba locale has been done and is available as bem_ZM

3. The Launchpad Bemba translation team, ubuntu-l10n-bem, has been created

4. A moderated mailing-list has been set up. Mailing list is available at https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-bem

5. The team's page includes links to the mailing list, mailing list address, introductory notes to the team's objective

6. We have set up the mailing list for communication and also are a wiki is being developed which will contain our translation guidelines and glossary. Wiki is at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBembaTranslators

7. We have also set up a team on the Gnome translation page

8. We have a coordinator already, Anthony Musaluke ( that is me, applying), and I am already subscribed to the ubuntu-translators mailing list

That's excellent, thanks Anthony for the interest in translating Ubuntu into Bemba and for setting the team up.

I'll be happy to appoint the team for the Bemba translation of Ubuntu. But before I do that, may I ask you to:

* Add more information on how to join the team at https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-bem
* Add a link to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBembaTranslators in https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-bem
* Please consider creating the translation guidelines. This is not a blocker for the appointment of the team and you can set them up later, but we'd like to ask all teams to provide and use them. You'll find more info on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Translations/KnowledgeBase/TranslationGuidelines

Also, once the team has been appointed, may I ask you to file a request at https://answers.launchpad.net/launchpad/+addquestion for the deletion of the inactive https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-632 team?

Thanks!

Hi David

Have updated the information on the team front page and made the needed links.
The guidelines page is being prepared and draft is being worked on at http://piratepad.net/ep/pad/view/ro.wo1VWO6-Opk/latest
Once its in usable format, it is moving to the wiki page.

Thanks

Anthony

That's awesome, thanks :)

The team page looks really good now, so I'm now happy to appoint the team.

As a post-appointment action, may I ask you to:

* Address the actions at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Translations/KnowledgeBase/StartingTeam#After
* File a request at https://answers.launchpad.net/launchpad/+addquestion for the deletion of the inactive https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-632 team

Thanks.

Welcome to the Ubuntu Translations community and happy translating!
