Trash = Wastebasket, Rubbish Bin, Deleted Items or Deleted Items Folder?

Asked by James Thorrold

Hi!

I am confused as to what the English UK translation team is using for 'Trash'. The UK translation guidelines say to use 'Deleted Items' but I have seen: Wastebasket and Rubbish Bin used too (it is currently Rubbish Bin in Maverick). Fully updated Natty Alpha 3 currently has it translated as Wastebasket (except the gnome-panel applet which is still Rubbish Bin).

Please let me know which version to use so I can translate and review correctly,

thanks!

James.

I think the current recommendation is to use "Rubbish Bin", but please double check it by contacting the English UK Ubuntu translations team (https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-en-gb).

If that is the case, I guess the guidelines should be updated.

See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/transmission/+bug/406626/ for more info.
