want to create translation team

Asked by Ulloriaq Lundblad

Hello

I would like to create a translation team, downunder you can see the checklist I made to make sure we are the first team who wants to translate ubuntu.

Another thing we need a mailing list for this team, I hope you can create one for us.

Hope to hear from you soon

Hi Ulloriaq,

Sorry for the late reply, and thanks a lot for looking at the checklist and creating the team.

I have now appointed the team to be part of the ubuntu-translators group, which will allow you to start translating Ubuntu straight away.

Please make sure to:

* Take care of the points on the "After the team has been accepted" section at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Translations/KnowledgeBase/StartingTeam
* Feel free to follow news and announcements around Ubuntu Translations subscribing to some of our new resources:
  https://davidplanella.wordpress.com/2010/11/19/its-ubuntu-follow-friday/
* Mark this question as solved it you think it is. If you need more help, feel free to ask!

Happy translating!

Regards,
David

P.S. I'd also advise you to translate the welcome text in your team's Launchpad page into Greenlandic, as it will be friendlier to potential new translators

Just one more thing:

Please consider giving the team a more descriptive "Display Name" (e.g. Ubuntu Greenlandic Translators), as the current 'ubuntu-l10n-kl' does not tell much about the team.

You can change this on the "Display Name" field on https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-kl/+edit

Thank you
We have now change the name of the froup to "Ubuntu Kalaallisut Translators"
We already begun the translation, this is really exciting.

Great! I'm sure the Kalaallisut translation is going to rock!

And one more thing (now for real :)

* As the team coordinator for the new team, may I ask you to have a visible e-mail address as contact point? You can do this by going to https://launchpad.net/~<yourusername>/+edit and unchecking "Hide my email addresses from other Launchpad users". Only logged in Launchpad users will be able to see it.

Some background on this:

Thanks!
