Please accept https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-ace as the translation team for Acehnese

Asked by Ferri Yanto

Hi !!

I am Ferri Yanto, the administrator of Ubuntu Acehnese Translator. I’m and team so deeply interest to translate Ubuntu to Acehnese (ace) language, then people in our province could learn open source software actively.

I’ve seen at Ubuntu Translators translation group, there isn’t group the team responsible for translation Ubuntu to Acehnese (ace) language. And this is our motivation, with kind familiar language Ubuntu user know is easy way to introduce the world of Open Source.

I had create team Ubuntu Acehnese Translator (https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-ace).
Mailing list : <email address hidden>
Forum : www.rencong-it.web.id

I would like to contribute translate Ubuntu to spesific language. I hope to approve Ubuntu Acehnese Translator into Ubuntu Translators translation group and responsible for translation Ubuntu to Acehnese (ace) language.

Thank you for taking the time to reading my request.

Best regards,
Ferri Yanto

Hi Ferri,

Thanks for the good work in creating the team and filing the request.

Before accepting the team I've got a few questions.

Could you tell us a bit more on the points outlined in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Translations/KnowledgeBase/StartingTeam?

In particular, I'd be interested in:

* Have you got translation guidelines or are you working in them?
* Are there upstream translation teams for Acehnese already? Are you in touch with them? Have you read the documentation on upstreams at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Translations/Upstream?
* Who is going to be the team coordinator?
* You are mentioning a forum here, but I cannot see it mentioned in the team page. Do you think you could add it there?
* You are also directing potential contributors to "Who want to participate in Acehnese Translator just goto Launchpad on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ContributeToUbuntu". I think the ContributeToUbuntu page is too generic for translations. I would suggest to create your own page for UbuntuAcehneseTranslators in the wiki as most teams do, or to direct translators to Launchpad.

If you could address and answer these points, I think I'd be happy to appoint the team, unless anyone else from the UTC team has anything to add.

Thanks!

Thank you Ferri for looking into all those points.

I'm now pleased to appoint your team for the translation of Acehnese in Ubuntu. Congratulations!

As the last step, could you please look into the remaining points on the "After the team has been accepted" section in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Translations/KnowledgeBase/StartingTeam? Thanks.

Happy translating!
