Can I translate the word Ubuntu into my language?

It depends on the usage. If the word "Ubuntu" is being used as a trademark, that is, as a brand, it should be left untranslated. The same applies for the "Linux for human beings" tagline.

If you are translating it in the context of a desktop application (e.g. as in "Ubuntu Software Center") or in Ubuntu documentation, it should be fine to translate it using another script (e.g. Cyrillic or Hebrew), or to transliterate it (e.g. أوبونتو in Arabic).
