Ubuntu on EC2

Availability in European region

EC2 recently added support for the new eu-west-1 region, located in Europe. But the official Ubuntu AMI's are only available in the old us-east-1 region. The same applies to the AKI and ARI images. Are there plans to support EC2 in Europe?

Yes, it is planned to do so shortly, once the beta is over, or before if there are more requests for it.

I am not sure if this is the root of my problem. But I have subscribed to Amazon AWS and EC2, as well as to the Ubuntu beta test like it was instructed on this page: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EC2StartersGuide
However, I am not authorised to access the image:
console output: Not authorized for images: [ami-814aaee8]
When I connect to Amazon AWS console, I also cannot list the 2 AMI mentioned in the above link.

I am a European resident, so is it still not available for us in Europe?

N.B.: I have received no feedback from the beta sign-up if my registration worked or not.

Correct! Something must have gone wrong with the first subscription try! I have subscribed again, and I have now received confirmation.
