Ubuntu 13.10 upgrade failure

The computer hung in the middle of the install phase of the upgrade process. After an hour or so, I turned it off. It will now only boot to the terminal and the root directory. 'init 3' does not work. How can I return the computer to some point where install can continue? or to 13.04? Thanks.

The question you asked is about the Linux Distribution Ubuntu and it's upgrade to version 13.10.
It has nothing to do with "Ubuntu-it Menu", that is just a small package in which you have created this question.

I'll suggest you to search on http://ubuntuforums.org/ and ask there if you cannot find already a solution for you problem.
