update manager crashes after a partial upgrade

Asked by Hiren Gandhi

I recently installed Ubuntu Gnome 15.04 Alpha 1 inside a VM environment and ran update manager, at first it said it could not retrieve any updates but then came back and told me to do a partial upgrade. I restarted and ran update again, but it came back with could not get updates and after retrying, update manager crashes.

My question is, could this be just because its inside a VM or are there others experiencing this issue? Should I just re-install? I posted a bug report #1409210 under Ubuntu after apport directed me there.

Hi Hiren,

This would probably occur on both VM and bare metal machines. Since this was reported during the Alpha phase of development, it is possible to hit a few snags during the development phase of a release. Filing a bug report was a good idea, however, it might have just been a temporary problem at the time you did it.

If you no longer have this problem, please consider marking your bug as invalid or provide more information if you still encounter this problem from time to time.

Thanks
