Hello Gürkan Sengün. The Debian 'pkg-fonts' team has worked to prepare and include packages of 'ttf-ubuntu-font-family' into Debian. There are two current issues:

  1. Ubuntu Font Family currently requires non-free and zero-payware in the '.ttf' build chain. This means it has to go in either 'contrib' or 'non-free' because 'main' is designed to be solely self-rebuildable (this is the same position as packages with PDF or Flash/Shockwave files where the source is libre, but there is a requirement for other tools to rebuild from scratch).

  2. The FTP masters have discussed the current interim licence (UFL-1.0) and decided that it is not suitable for 'main' with the current UFL-1.0 wording. This view-point is perfectly acceptable. It means that the package would go into Debian 'non-free' for the time-being.

I would encourage working closely with the Debian 'pkg-fonts' team to get 'ttf-ubuntu-font-family' available as soon as possible.
