8.10 only in safty mode

i was using 8.04 and i upgraded to 8.10 but now i get a line at the top of my screen and the rest is black. only way to use 8.10 is in safe mode but that only works 1 out of 3 times. what do i do to fix this.

you can to recover your sistem gen into ubuntu 8.04 whit a kernel .19 not the .22
