Whats the difference: 7.1 vs 8.4 ? aka Why Upgrdade?

Normally there are reasons given for upgrading. I couldnt find any and since 7.1 is working flawlessly for me, I am wondering if I should do the upgrade for some reason>?

Also it would be nice in general if any upgrades or updates gave the file sizes and reasons.
