Wiki translation

Asked by Krzysztof Tataradziński

When I'm translating here at Launchpad strings, does it affect Community wiki, in example
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/InstallingANewHardDrive

Is there any sense of translating that project? It seems to be little outdated
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation
"The official Ubuntu 12.04 Installation Guide (...)"

The community help wiki at https://help.ubuntu.com/community is a plain wiki, and not prepared for translations. Hence ordinary translation efforts won't affect the community help wiki.

If e.g. a LoCo wants to translate certain pages at the community help wiki, they are free to do so, of course. But the translated pages would have to be saved as separate pages.

It should be mentioned that the official documentation, i.e.

* Ubuntu Desktop Guide <https://help.ubuntu.com/stable/ubuntu-help/>

* Ubuntu Server Guide <https://help.ubuntu.com/stable/serverguide/>

are ready to be translated.

An eventual move to MediaWiki would allow for the instauration of a translation infrastructure for wiki pages, but right now we’re stuck with MoinMoin.

Can you help with this problem?
