Feedback on the Dell EMC PowerEdge R740 (201703-25480)

The link for Ubuntu image for Dell EMC PowerEdge R740 (https://ubuntu.com/certified/201703-25480) and Dell EMC PowerEdge R750 (https://ubuntu.com/certified/202105-29056) are not providing the corresponding ISO files. Instead both links lead to the new Ubuntu 22.04 LTS server version. Kindly help to resolve the issue.

Hi... did you click on the button for "Manual Install" to see the ISO downloads? And on the ISO download page, did you scroll down just a bit to see the box that says "Ubuntu Server 20.04 LTS"?

That is where you would find this.

Thanks for your reply and apologize for my late response.

I tried the link as you suggested and I was able to download the 20.04 LTS version. However, the image was not able to detect the Hard Disk during the installation on Dell EMC R750.

Two months back, I faced the same issue with Dell EMC R740 with the regular Ubuntu 20.04 LTS version. Later, I got the link https://ubuntu.com/certified/201703-25480 and downloaded the 20.04 LTS version from the link. The image was able to successfully detect the Hard Disk. I was wondering, whether the link that you specified is pointing to the generic version of Ubuntu 20.04 or the Dell EMC specific one.

Please let me know your opinion which may be very helpful to resolve the issue.

What storage? You have provided no real details there that are going to be important. As for images, there is no Dell EMC specific image... there is only the stock Ubuntu Server image.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for your reply. I just tested the Ubuntu 20.04 version with our Dell EMC Power Edge R740 and it is able to detect the Hard Disk during installation process. I hope, the issue of not detecting the hard disk is due to some configuration options in Dell Server. We will figure it out.

FYI: The error we faced was the following. "Block probing did not discover any disks. Unfortunately this means that installation will not be possible"
