Asked by Stephen Bustard

hi,

I am having problems with the install of Ubuntu 20.04.1, at the end of the install I am getting the below error "ci-info no authorized ssh keys fingerprints found for user ubuntu"

When rebooting the server it just comes up with tty1 and no login screen, I attempted changing the tty with Alt and the F5 for example but does not make a difference. Most of the forums say about disabling the cloud-init but in order to do this I am assuming I need to get logged in.

Is there a way of disabling it in GRUB and when i do get logged in do I need to install a different version of cloud-init?

Thanks,
Stephen

Please see the attached FAQ regarding how to get technical support.

One thing I'd suggest though is trying the latest 20.04 image (which is 20.04.3) as there were a lot of updates between 20.04.1 and 20.04.3.

Following the suggestion above I have carried out further steps to narrow down the issue and does seem to be with the cloud-init. I was able to to a re-install of the 16.04 Ubuntu which was originally on the server and carried out all the patching and upgrades before jumping to 18.04.

During the upgrade everything seems to have gone well until the reboot after the 18.04 install where it got stuck again at the tty.. screen. I am also attempted the install of the suggested image Ubuntu 20.04.3 with no success on this either. In case there was any issue with the Volumes I moved avay from LVM during the install and this has not been successful either.

Can you help with this problem?
