Feedback on the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 7th Gen

The volume control system wide does not work. It stays at the same volume from 1% through 100% (stays at 100% the entire slider range).
Interestingly if you turn on audio boost or over amplification, the system recognizes this and volume control works over 100%. Speakers get louder from 100-150% but then again once back at 100% they stay there until you hit 0% at which point they get muted.
Using an X1 Carbon gen 7 8565u 16gb ram. The laptop features 4 speakers and this may be a problem?
