Feedback on the Lenovo ThinkPad X390 - Sideswipe

Asked by Piotr Czekalski

So far Ubuntu 19.04 seems to work well with two minor issues (not solved yet):
- no fingerprint sensor handling out of the box;
- missing autorotation feature (IMU) - I wonder if this machine has one.

After installing battery management (TLP), in lowes possible settings (CPU @ 400MHz - yes, you can put it down to 400MHz), lowest brightness, network switched off, battery time estimated is about 16 hours!

In power mode, about 6-7h. I didn't test real working time yet but observing battery slow draining, it is a really good result. CPU is i5 8265U, 16GB.

To install, I had to disable Secure Boot in BIOS.
Next great thing is even if Settings panel does not show Wacom tablet, the active pen works well and palm reject is handled automatically (or at least looks like it is done on the hardware or driver).

To summarise, looking for help on:
- setting up fingerprint reader to login and authorise 'sudo' tasks;
- handle automatic screen rotation;
- launch advanced wacom configuration.

Regards,

P.
