Hello,
I have a Dell G7 7588 at hand with BIOS version 1.9.0 with 18.04 Bionic (4.15.0-48) + proprietary nvidia driver running on it.
The fan is not spinning after boot to desktop, CPU temperature is around 55 deg. C, but it will start spinning right away when the system is running some program, tested with stress command.

For the proprietary video driver, search "driver" in your dash (hit the windows key to bring it up).

You may also want to upgrade your BIOS, looks like there are some thermal related improvements there.

HI Po-Hsu Lin ,

Thank you very much for your prompt reply.

You are right CPU and GPU fan is working fine when temperature hit min temperature ~60deg C.

Thanks again for letting me know about nvidea drivers. I am able to install nvidea driver for my laptop.

Thanks and Regards,
