Feedback on the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6th Generation - Yoda2

Asked by Max Wenzin

The Lenovo X1 Carbon 6th generation with model number 20KH006JMX has built-in mobile broadband with a slot for a nano-SIM card. Unfortunately, this does not work on Ubuntu.

After reading some posts, I have gatherered that it is a Fibocom device which doesn't have drivers for Linux.

Please add this as a note on the certification page on https://certification.ubuntu.com/hardware/201712-26045/, so other people are not mislead into buying this laptop thinking that the 4g connection will work.

Hi Max,

Thanks for your feedback.
I believe the X1 Carbon you have is not an Ubuntu pre-installed configuration. As you can see in Ubuntu certification page for ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6th Generation (https://certification.ubuntu.com/hardware/201712-26045/), the configuration does not equip wwan module.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Max Wenzin for more information if necessary.
