Feedback on the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6th Generation - Yoda2

Asked by Max Wenzin

The Lenovo X1 Carbon 6th generation with model number 20KH006JMX has built-in mobile broadband with a slot for a nano-SIM card. Unfortunately, this does not work on Ubuntu.

After reading some posts, I have gatherered that it is a Fibocom device which doesn't have drivers for Linux.

Please add this as a note on the certification page on, so other people are not mislead into buying this laptop thinking that the 4g connection will work.

Hi Max,

Thanks for your feedback.
I believe the X1 Carbon you have is not an Ubuntu pre-installed configuration. As you can see in Ubuntu certification page for ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6th Generation (, the configuration does not equip wwan module.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Max Wenzin for more information if necessary.
