Not Working: Lenovo ThinkPad T480 with Ubuntu newer than 16.04 LTS

Hi there,

I have got a Thinkpad T480 with 32GB RAM, I7, NVIDIA GPU and M2 SSD. Everything works fine as long as I use Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. Every newer version still doesn't work :( the CPU load is always at 100% and I didn't find a solution for this problem so far. Would be nice if someone of you could help me with this issue.

Hello,

This sounds like a bug, can you run 18.04.1 and open a bug to describe the issue that you have encountered (command "ubuntu-bug linux" in a terminal).

no I can't run 18.04 or 18.10 because it immidiately freezes after booting. So I don't have a chance to file a bug with 18.04 or 18.10.

CPU usage is always 100% on all cores and immidiately after opening an application (terminal, firefox, whatever) the desktp freezes and I have to kill my notebook with the power button.
