Feedback on the Lenovo ThinkPad P1 - Padme

I have attempted to install Ubuntu 18.04 on my recently purchased Lenovo P1 configured as described on the certification website, and thus far I have been unable to even begin the installation as I get errors immediately after selecting install Ubuntu

What's the error message?

This laptop is quite new (released in Aug. 2018 IIRC), the stock Ubuntu that you downloaded might not work well on it as 18.04 was released in April. Can you give 18.04.1 or the 18.10 a try?
