Feedback on the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5th - Yoda

Asked by waldek

Hi. After instalation ubuntu on usb stick started system is not able to detect any internet connection via wifi or lan. What command should be used to activate it on the x1? The problem is connected with visibility of hardware and any attempt is always leading to the same „No connection available”? Anyone can help me? By the way if i am starting from external hdd the opened ubuntu works ideally despite of fact that system was installed on the disc 5 years ago 😠. Waldek

Hi,
please try a newer version of Ubuntu, 17.10 or 16.04.3
another possibility is that you might need a proprietary driver for your Wifi card (if it's made by Broadcom)

Thanks
