Feedback on the HPE ProLiant DL20 Gen9

Asked by Priyadarshana Chandrasena

I have a HP DL20 Gen9 server 823562-B21 with BIOS U22 V2.22 and I want to install Ubuntu 16.04.03 on it. I have disabled B140i and set to AHCI embedded storage controller. I have a P440 card and created a logical drive. But in UEFI mode the server does not boot from the USB drive and can not install Ubuntu but the server boots in Legacy BIOS mode and can install Ubuntu. I want to install Ubuntu in UEFI mode. How can I do this ?.

Please see the attached FAQ for more information on obtaining technical support.

If it helps, Ubuntu is installable from USB stick in EFI mode, but you need to make sure that EFI boot options include the USB ports or device as a boot option. Usually, there's a button press to load a one-time boot menu in EFI that will allow you to select the USB stick as the boot device.

Beyond that, I'm afraid I'm going to have to direct you to the support options listed in the FAQ I have attached.

Thanks!
