Factory restore process crashed

Asked by amal v p

I have a pre installed Ubuntu 14.04 in my dell inspiron 15 5000 series.
There was a built in dell restore tool in it. I selected factory restore, during the factory restore, the process crashed. So now I can't boot to my Ubuntu, is there any method to make another factory reset without booting to Ubuntu. ( in the bios Oru something else)

Sure,

there is a recovery partition in your pre-installed system.
All you need to do is to:
1. Boot the system
2. After the "Dell" logo splash screen, hit ESC key right away, this should bring you the grub menu.
3. Select the "Restore Ubuntu 14.04 to factory state" to start the recovery process.

Thanks
