PowerEdge R220 ubuntu desktop installation

Hello,
My organization just bought a dell server(PowerEdge R220) ive been trying to install ubuntu desktop version but i got 'No controller found 4922919' and the installation will just got stuck.
Please its urgent,
1. is there a way to install GUI or desktop version on the system?
2. what type of GUI will i need to use?
3. does that mean ubuntu desktop will not work on the server?
