Feedback on the Dell Latitude E5270 - Park City 12 SKL-U

Asked by pr3ddi

There are massive problems with the Skylake chipset -> Power Management and Display Driver and a docking station.

For example
- undocking and re-docking does not activate external displays
- switching from desktop to console and back, either hangs the system or sends it into standby mode
- detection of external displays (projector) works once and not a second time (without dock)
- random crashes when changing, switching display modes or recovering from standby

Tested with E5270 16gb ram and xubuntu 16.04.1 / 64bit

Hello,
this sounds like a bug to the video driver, I have found a similar thread here: https://01.org/linuxgraphics/forum/graphics-power-users/e7440-latitude/dell-dock-dual-monitors-ubuntu-14.04-fixed

It will be great if you can file a bug report for these issues. And please feel free to give Yakkety a try, which has a newer kernel and might contain a fix to these problems.
Cheers
