my new computer Dell Latitude 3350 's Ethernet hardware:
Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller

cannot work under unbuntu 14.04-ubuntu16.04

Hi, thanks for your feedback.

Would you please provide the following questions?

1. paste the output of the command "uname -a"
2. do your image use a pre-installed image? (the system is installed by Dell)
3. you mentioned about "14.04-ubuntu16.04", and how did you get this kernel? did you update/upgrade your system?

Thanks.

Hey,

This system only being certified with customized version of Ubuntu. Details explaining the pre-loaded image: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu-certification/+faq/1523

Since you are on regular/stock image the best way to resolve this is to report a bug, please following this:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu-certification/+faq/2193

Based on limited information that your provided here, it might be multiple reasons to cause this,
I would suggest also attach following informations to the new bug:
UEFI or legacy, if UEFI does secure boot on?
ISO image version, 14.04 or 14.04.1 ..etc.
  output of `dkms status`

And feel free to post and link the bug with this question.
