Feedback on the Dell Inspiron 7559 - Pandora SKL

Asked by scott

I set up my wife's new Inspiron 15 and I got a prompt for installing Ubuntu 16.04. I outsmarted myself and downloaded Trusty Taur instead (14.04). I wanted to put a trial desktop version on her computer, but I'm stuck. What's the best way to proceed? The Dell doesn't have a built-in DVD player --- should I download the files to a USB stick?

Hello scott,
you can find the instructions for how to create an USB stick here: http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/create-a-usb-stick-on-ubuntu, also, if your laptop came with Ubuntu pre-installed on it, it's better to run recovery to use it instead of using the stock image, details can be found here: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu-certification/+faq/2219

Can you help with this problem?
