Feedback on the Dell Latitude E7470 - Crashing when connecting external display

Asked by Brigham

The laptop freezes immediately upon connecting an external monitor to back of docking station. This can be either VGA, DVI or Display port. I haven't tried HDMI cable yet. The screen immediately locks up, no errror message appears or anything. I know it's locked up because the clock on the status bar doesn't change.

I'm using Ubuntu 14.04.
