Certification on Dell R530 and PERC H730P RAID?

Asked by Jon Hudson

Hi folks,

We are struggling to find current models from Dell that have certification from yourselves. I.E. the R510, R515 and R520 on your certified list have all been superseded. The closest match is the current model R530 with a PERC H730P RAID controller. Can you tell me if this is certified? Or if it is going to be? Am I even right to be querying you on certification rather than Dell?

Many thanks,

Jon.

Hi,

First, of the latest (13th Gen) models from Dell, the following have been certified:
R230, R330, R430, R630, R730, R730xd, R930

And within that, the following Perc cards were tested:
H330, H730, H730P

The H730P has been tested and in a Certified system. The R530 has not been certified, but given that the rest of the line has been, you would probably be OK with the R530. I forwarded your question on to the person who works with Dell directly, and I've asked him why that particular system was not Certified.

It could be that it was an oversight, or it could be something more. I'm hoping he'll find out and reply to this when he does.

Thanks
Jeff

Many thanks

Jeff, that pretty much answers my question as we are now looking at the R630 with H730 RAID. However, it would be good to know if the R530 would be an option for us to consider as per our original query, so I'll leave this open for the moment.

Thanks again,

Jon.

Here you go...

It was an accident, that entry had somehow been marked "private" so it was not published to the web. Thank you for asking about this, because you helped me find that and fix the problem :)

So the R530 IS actually certified, as is the H730P Perc card, so I think you'd be good to go.
