Wifi is not working, laptop has no Ethernet port

Asked by Chris Nokes

After installing Ubuntu 15.04 x64 onto my new Dell XPS 13 9343 I have no wifi, I had hoped it would be resolved once I got to the desktop.

I have tried disabling Bluetooth and this had no effect. Rebooting none neither. This laptop was fully supported so I don't see why this isnt working?

I also loaded the 12.04 flash drive in Live mode and it also failed to see any WiFi connections.

How can I fix my wifi?

I managed to borrow a USB to Ethernet converter from a colleague and fixed the issue. It is simply down to the wifi driver being proprietary.
