Jeff Lane suggests this article as an answer to your question: The X3100 M5 is certified for 14.04 and 12.04. Note that the onboard SATA RAID is not considered supported. If you want RAID, you will need a hardware RAID option from your supplier or you will need to configure software RAID during the install.

I tried to install Ubuntu 14.04 but during grub install I got "Grub Fatal Error". How can this be fixed?
